Ph.D. in Medicine from Shiga University of Medical Science. Board-certified diagnostic radiologist with over 16 years of clinical experience in diagnostic imaging and IVR at acute care hospitals. He has led image interpretation systems at core hospitals and trained residents and allied health professionals.
Contributes to Kewel's AI diagnostic SaMD development in gastroenterology and orthopedics as a board-certified radiologist.
Advisor
Ph.D. in Medicine from the University of Tsukuba. Physician specializing in radiology and medical imaging. After serving at the National Institute of Radiological Sciences, he held academic appointments including Lecturer in Radiology at the University of Tsukuba, Visiting Lecturer at Stanford University School of Medicine, Visiting Lecturer and Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School, and Professor at the University of California, Irvine, where he is now a Professor Emeritus. He has also served as a Visiting Professor at the National University of Singapore and Mahidol University, promoting international collaborative research in AI-based medical imaging.
Drawing on his extensive experience in medical imaging and AI research, he provides strategic guidance on Kewel's clinical and imaging initiatives and supports international collaboration in medical AI.
We serve healthcare needs through five pillars:
AI medical diagnostic SaMD development, teleradiology services, medical AI managed services, medical data services, and custom medical AI development.
Medical device software powered by cutting-edge deep learning. Analyzes medical images with high precision, delivering real-time insights and explainable results that physicians can trust.
Remote image interpretation by specialist physicians. Delivering high-quality radiology reports in a timely manner regardless of location, helping bridge regional gaps in healthcare access. We plan to integrate AI-powered diagnostics in the future to further enhance accuracy and efficiency.
A managed service providing high-quality data annotation by specialist physicians and domain experts. Through a multi-stage quality assurance process, we build expertly curated datasets that support pharmaceutical R&D, drug discovery, and AI development. We plan to expand the service to specialized domains beyond healthcare in the future.
Generating rich structured datasets from medical images. Partnering with pharmaceutical companies to accelerate drug discovery and R&D with high-quality AI-analyzed clinical data and quantitative biomarkers.
Custom AI model and system development. Building tailored solutions from concept to deployment for your unique diagnostic and imaging challenges.
Early detection of retinal diseases through OCT and fundus photograph analysis. Detecting conditions such as diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration that can lead to vision loss.
Integrated AI diagnostic support for hepatobiliary-pancreatic (liver, biliary, pancreas) regions. Enabling early cancer detection and benign/malignant classification, with future expansion to adjacent GI areas.
X-ray-based bone tumor detection and benign/malignant classification, pediatric humeral fracture and elderly femoral fracture detection. Also includes MRI-based spine disease diagnosis support.
Supporting thrombolysis (t-PA) eligibility decisions for acute ischemic stroke. Helping reduce time to treatment initiation.
AI-assisted CT/MRI analysis for urological imaging (renal masses, renal cysts, adrenal tumors). Streamlining diagnostic radiology interpretation workflows.
